We Smashed It – Now It’s Your Turn!

Calling all women – we need you to help us show off the power of female cycling at Britain’s most iconic ride in 2020.

75% of regular cyclists in the U.K. are men and we think it’s time the sport shook off its ‘Lycra Lad’ reputation.

Our ambition is for our event to have an equal split between men and women taking part. We’ve made some great strides on this over recent years, and consider ourselves one of the U.K’s most gender neutral cycling events, but there’s still a long way to go.

What makes the ride female friendly?

  • Minimal planning needed – The route is fully signed and marshalled, and you have access to mobile bike mechanics and first aid throughout. Recovery vehicles are on hand to collect anyone who needs to drop out, and you’ll also be given an emergency contact number to call in the unlikely event that you run into any difficulties. All the practicalities of planning a bike ride are taken care of. All you need to focus on is pedalling to Brighton and soaking up the day!

  • Friendly – The ride is an opportunity for people to challenge themselves, have fun and raise money for charity…together. There’s no racing, just lots of smiling faces generating an incredible atmosphere.

  • Supportive – From the moment you sign up, we make sure you’re supported through every turn of the pedal. From providing expert training plans, detailed event information and fundraising advice, to the crowds of people who’ll be cheering you over the finish line – we make sure you never feel on your own.

  • Achievable – 55 miles on the bike is no walk in the park, but with some training, and a bit of self-belief we believe this is a challenge cyclists of all fitness levels can conquer.

  • Charitable – This is a multi-charity ride, meaning if you wish to fundraise, you can do so for the cause closest to your heart

It was my first but definitely not my last cycle ride from London to Brighton. The whole event from registration and the ride itself were excellent organised. Staff members are super friendly and supportive and the lunch was delicious. I can’t wait for the next year 🙂
